Evolution, or Creation?

Confusion in schools.

Did mankind evolve from apes? The Theory of Evolution is still taught in America's classrooms today. But is it accurate? In 1831, Charles Darwin decided to set out on a five-year voyage around the world. When visiting some remote islands off the West coast of South America, he observed some extremely unusual animal species on these islands that caused him to develop a controversial theory based upon an earlier "survival of the fittest" theory by the biologist Alfred Russel Wallace that inferred animal species could be altered, and even newly created, through a gradual process of adaptation to new and different environments over time. Darwin issued his theory that this same process was responsible for the development of all species, including man.

Darwin theorized that man had gradually "evolved" from the lesser apes. Darwin's theory however infuriated many people in the religious community, who believed in the biblical concept of Original Creation. Charles Darwin's controversial theory was soon taught in America's schools and resulted in a court battle in Tennesee (the Scopes Monkey Trial) to prevent the teaching of Darwin's theory in Tennesee public schools.

Archeological digs were immediately initiated all over the world to locate the many "missing links" between apes and humans. Archeologists were able to identify a few examples of so-called missing links found in the most recent portion of the last million years of human development. These creatures however, were still found with well developed canine teeth, long arms, short legs, and feet shaped like hands for climbing trees. Although a true missing link was not found, supporters of Darwin's theory were able to convince the Supreme Court in 1968 to allow the Theory of Evolution to be taught in America's public schools.

In the early 1970s however, a truly shocking archeological find would totally undermine Darwin's controversial theory of human evolution. This discovery in Ethiopia would finally prove that mankind walked on Earth long before anyone thought, thus thoroughly discrediting the arguments of Darwin's many supporters trying to find missing links in the last million years of human history. The unexpected discovery of "Lucy" and her relatives more clearly reflected God's sudden "Creation" of mankind.
